Friday figments and photos

Despite spending most of this week shivering, it has been wonderful. Great memories of our honeymoon in the South of France (we must, must go back soon if only to get some vitamin D and improve those 5+ year old photos), booking exciting new trips, celebrating too much, reminiscing about New Zealand, the excited chattering of afternoon tea, guilt at not taking the best photos that I can or writing particularly well, concentrating on laughter instead and snuggling into a warm, unctious scarf.

But hey, that's real life.

...and discovering quite possibly the funniest birthday card I've ever seen. Ever.

How about you? How are you coping with the deep January freeze?

Ps. Don't forget it's time for the travel linkup again - this month's topic is 'Unexpected benefits of blogging". Just pop up your themed (as vaguely as you like) post between the 1st & 7th Feb & add it to the linkup found at the bottom of Mine, Kelly, Rebecca our co-host Sara's blogs. Easy squeezy! In the meantime, check out last month's wonderful travel plan posts...

I rather like your description of real life (minus the guilt that is!) Are you a painter? I didn't know that. It's most definitely not a skill I'll ever have but I can however draw a cat out of just semi-circles and circles - my husband is brilliant at art and when I showed him the cat, he couldn't stop laughing...hmmm.....

  9. That card!! It is groundhog day this weekend, when we find out how much longer we have left of winter - I have a feeling that groundhog will be good to us this year. Stay warm!
