A day in the life of a London Kiwi (feat. a few blog friends)

The 'day in the life' post style is one that has kicked the blogosphere for years, and every time I read one I love it. It offers a fascinating snapshot into the wanderings of a blogger you love - so, inspired by Kaelene @ Unlocking Kiki and Kerri @ Crumbs in the Bed, here is a look into my little life.

Now, day-to-day my weekday routines aren't interesting to anyone, let alone me, so I've picked a fairly typical Sunday. Just exchange our brunch location for any one of these London brunch spots, the Shoreditch wanderances for a plethora of explorations and the snoozing cat for, well, nothing as the snoozing cat ain't never gonna change.

8am: Wake up, resent the curled up cat still sleeping on my bed, laugh at my silly self, choose outfit and size bag that best suits the day of mischief, then run for train.

9am: Check Twitter updates, intend to reply to comments on my own blog, end up being distracted by other people's posts and find coffee.

9.31am: Rescue a dazed and upset Duck from being runover in London traffic, before shooing him into a nearby grassy square and calling the RSPB.

10:15am: Wander past the goat of Spitalfields (regretting leaving my camera at home) towards the latest brunch discovery of Jess of Jess on Thames' fame. We're meeting a couple of the usual suspects for a catch up over a brew. Well, once they've managed to navigate a few London commuting issues...

10.30am: This happens. 3rd cup of the day & counting.

11am: We tuck into a rather scrumptious brunch, whilst revelling in the sunshine streaming through the windows. I take a slight detour from my usual Eggs Benedict, swayed by the promise of a Salt Beef Potato Rosti. Heavenly.

12pm: We sadly lose our RunawayKiwi to the sirencall of her blog, but discover one Mrs Angie Silverspoon smiling at us in the Observer.

1pm: Lured over to the Shoreditch darkside, it's all about coffee, coffee, coffee, church spires and cool creativity. And a touch of accidental aliteration...

2pm: We're wandering, laughing, almost getting run over whilst taking photos and generally loving the sunshine.

2.27pm: Spot one of my Oranges and Lemon Churches - the rather pretty "When I grow rich" pealing bells of Shoreditch St Leonards.

3pm: Check in with Mr Kiwi who is fearfully supporting his childhood Football team at a Wembley Stadium final. It could go either way, but I don't think that's such a good thing...

^ Alas not my house, or even my neighbourhood, not by a long shot...

4pm: Mooch home to do some blogging. Dream up random ideas whilst chimney pots and the countryside flicker past the train window. Almost miss my stop. Don't want to ask how the game goes.

5pm: Procrastinate about finishing the essential chores for the week ahead. #Thuglife y'all. Decide to eat a hot cross bun instead & do some more blogging.

6pm: Dinner beckons amidst the haze of furious typing.

7pm: On the stroke of 7pm the cat is miaowing for her dinner (true story - we are convinced she has learned to tell the time since we instigated the 7pm dinner rule (she was being fed up to 3 times a night by different people as we got in from work)). Back to the blog cliff face it is.

7.30pm: A devastated Mr Kiwi has returned, having safely delivered our out-of-town guests to the train station home, the Grimsby Mariners sadly unsuccessful at Wembley.

8pm: A bit of photo editing (I never do much, just a touch of cropping and add a copyright). Blogger problems, I know. The cat is still doing nothing, just closer to me this time.

9pm: Erm.

10pm: See above with plenty of Twitter distractions.

11pm: Blog, blog blogging baby!

At some point after that we begin to settle in for the night, ready for up and coming weekday shenanigans. It's not really a rock'n'roll life, but it is utterly delicious.
