Instead of disappearing off to the other side of the world to cast off our shoes and swelter - by choice - in Christmas jumpers in the New Zealand sunshine (not to mention swimming with wild dolphins (sorta)) we are cozying up at home. We have a wealth of cheesy movies lined up, more snacks than we'll ever need and a few of our nearest and dearest next to us.
We will as per tradition eat all the things - whilst I ponder the prevalence of Turkey and sneak everyone's Brussels Sprouts (all the while hoping my stir-up-Sunday fruitcake is tasty - I've been feeding it Brandy since mid-November), toasting Her Majesty (and then quickly changing over the channel for the +1 speech) and we'll definitely tick a few things off my annually utilized expat survival guide.

If I feel up to it, I may indulge in a little blog housekeeping (honestly though probably not), flick through a chapter of Charles Dickens (again, with my 10-second attention span I may not) or perhaps even convince everyone of a game of charades. We shall see.
My Christmas gift to you? A sleigh-full of Christmas Carol suggestions. Just remember, you won't get to play them for a whole 'nother year almost...
