Friday figments and photos: March

If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb. Or so the old proverb goes (you’d think that living in a country for nearly a decade will educate you in all of the local wacky sayings, but no…)

Monument London Adventures of a London Kiwi

In this vein, I thought I might start the month with a touch of analysis (well, end of February – tah-may-to toe-mah-toe) and indulged in a little interrogation of you lovelies who pop over to my mutterings on a fairly regular basis.

Y‘all made me tear up a little. Mostly in laughter, as there are some Jennifer Lawrence fangirls & Grumpy Cat admirers who adore puns, dislike multiple choice questions and are social media addicts. I suspect this is why fate drew you towards my crazy little corner of internet musings and I like it.

You lot seem to pop in mostly for the wanderlust adventures and the random London explorations, and fancy a few more book reviews (to my utter surprise) and tales of a long-term expat. This makes me happy. I also learned a lot more about you lot – you like cats (much to my delight and surprise), don’t seem to mind the ramblings of my sense of humour and seem to mostly stalk me via the medium of social media (which seems to say my Twitter addiction is well-founded so far).

There was one comment I feel like I need to address – “I like rants. More cat content. Rants about cats would tip me over the edge.” The only problem with this is the habit that cats have of looking at you pleadingly with with big, beautiful, soulful eyes that cut rants dead. (And rats, but that’s a whole different topic of conversation)

This thought probably got the biggest, goofiest happy smile, and made my blue day.

“I adore your blog because it’s honest, and it’s like catching up with an old friend and hearing what they’ve been up to (except, yano, the part where I haven’t met you yet haha) x”

Thank you, thank you, thank you. And when are you coming to London next!?

On aside, this week has been a combination of sky-high brunching, a few too many grey skies, sleepy coffee dates, a touch of theatre (we went to see soon ending the macabre and funny play ‘Hangman’ at the Wyndham Theatre), a touch of grouchyness (cause life ya know) and a peek of sunshine which I just wanted to curl into.

PS. don’t forget to keep sharing and checking out this month’s travel linkup of epic adventure proportions…

PPS. Got any quirky day trips from London you can recommend? I fancy running away and have done all the mainstream ones…
