I feel like I’ve written this post in a thousand ways over the years. We’ve definitely learned what we love and what we absolutely don’t enjoy whilst travelling – so for the Travel Linkup this month, I thought I would attempt to express what luxury travel means to me.
Often it’s the small moments that I love to savour.
The rich smell of a freshly brewed coffee, complex and sinfully unctuous – preferably delivered to my bedside table, whilst my favourite tunes are playing.
Leaving the windows opening to the pitter patter of rain, or opening the french doors to a breathtaking view in the afternoon sunshine.
Slipping into a beautifully scented spa pool, before jumping into the still, cool waters of a nearby pool.
Incredible experiences that change the way I see the world, ones that I never expected to have.
The taste of sun-ripened tomatoes fresh off the vine, accompanied by a glass of perfectly chilled wine.
The Hotel California, Hollywood LA
Luxurious travel is a sweet afternoon nap between cool, crisp sheets, snatched between busy mornings and delicious evenings.
Castles.
Walking into a bakery with the heady scents of pastries made with love and warm from the oven.
A suite staycation at the Langham Hotel, London
The feel of road weary toes, slowly sinking into plush carpet pile.
The soft, clean clink of a wine glass on a cool bath edge, put down next to a captivating book.
What about you?
