If we were having coffee…

If we were having coffee… I would be sipping something according to the fey winds of the April weather; a flat white if it’s cold and grey outside, or a Vietnamese iced coffee if the sun is shining. We’ve had several of my favourite days in the world recently –  crisp, cool days where the sun is shining and the skies are a beautiful blue as far as the eye can see.

If we were having coffee, I would ask what mischief you’ve been up to recently, because I know that as one of my friends, that you’ve definitely been up to all kinds of fun and chaos.

What have I been up to? Gadding about the flowers in Hyde Park after a lovely lunch.

I would tell you about how a couple of friends and I slipped over to Corfu for a long weekend of road tripping, exploration and as much sunshine on beach sands that we could fit into our time.

Over coffee, I would share all of the picnics I’m planning this year (some of which will no doubt be in some of my favourite secret picnic spots in London as well as a few places that I’ve been planning to visit for an age.)

By this point we’d probably be perusing the menu for a slice of something nice, and a second cup of coffee.

I’d regale you with tales from a recent overnight in Oxford, we’d chat all things coming up (including several UK weddings this summer) and I’d probably tell you about several of the books I’ve read recently – a fair few of which the lovely Audrey Louise and Amanda have recommended (you must, must read their reviews. They’re always spot on – and have great taste in fantasy/supernatural fiction.)

I would probably tell you about the corners of Islington I’ve been discovering lately, and about the Maple Bacon pastry scrolls at Pophams. I might also reveal the location of the delectable Thai restaurant we recently discovered in Kings Cross. Maybe. If I tell you where we went, then I might not get a table…

I’d love to tell you what Biscuit has been up to, but, well, she’s about as much use as a real Biscuit. Nothing has changed there…

How about you? What would you tell me over a coffee?
