On this trip to Rheims, instead of simply visiting as a day trip from Paris, we stayed overnight in the Continental Hotel, a very short walk through beautiful gardens from the train station. I was a guest of the Régionale du Tourisme Grand-Est and I would 100% stay in this beautiful hotel again on my own. Where to stay in Rheims
We wheeled our suitcases straight from the train station – so fresh from Paris you could practically smell our breakfast baguettes – and through the gardens to our home for the evening – the Continental Hotel.
The building, a mansion from the 19thcentury was transformed into a hotel in 1880, keeping the character of its old stones.
This four star hotel was renovated in 2018, and the 52 rooms are unique, modern and offer an excellent level of comfort.
Isn’t it beautiful? It’s the perfect answer to the question of where to stay in Rheims.
With its four categories of rooms and suites, I can definitely see how the Continental Hôtel would lend itself to tourist or business stays, as a couple or as a family.
The Continental Restaurant, with its panoramic view of Colbert Square and the promenades of Reims, serves breakfast, dinner and then becomes a bar area. It offers a delicious blend of authenticity and modernity, and we loved that the dishes evolve with the seasons.
We were lucky enough to also enjoy a 3-course dinner in their restaurant – I enjoyed every morsel, and my dessert was absolutely sublime.
The next morning we enjoyed breakfast from the extensive buffet. It includes pastries, breads, cereals, dairy products, jams, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, squeezed orange juice and hot and cold drinks
We probably would have tried everything, including on-demand eggs from the chef, but we had a very busy, very foodie day planned….
Location-wise, it’s ideal for visiting the city, the Reims Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Boulingrin market…
Have you visited the Champagne Region?
