Goodness me, it’s that part of the year again already. The time for looking back, taking stock of the present and writing travel wishlists for 2020. It’s also the time of year to be confused about exactly what year it is, but I digress.

Travel Wishlist 2020 Adventures of a London Kiwi

Travel has never been a race for me – I’ve always picked destinations on my own terms, and for my own reasons (more often than not, it’s the history or food of a place) and that’s something that isn’t going to change going into 2020. I do however treasure every single memory made. (If you fancy a recap, here’s a quick travel highlights reel of 2019.)

On the possible travel wishlist for 2020 – thanks to some of the travels amazing bloggers I love to read have done, flipping through my favourite travel magazines and sites, plus the history of some of these cities –  I’ve narrowed down my usual answer of ‘all the world’ to a selection of places.

On my wishlist are a couple of quirky places to tick off my bucket list…

…and perhaps another night or two in a castle.

Just being tourists in our own backyard with Simons sister @cindycolwill visiting from Oz. Giving her the in-depth historical tour through the many layers of history in our Glen. Starting from 5000 year old Neolithic rock art, standing stones and Bronze Age burial tombs, right up to Medieval castles. This is Kilchurn Castle on Loch Awe, The Earl of Argyll’s castle, his head bishop John Carswell lived in our castle as a strategic outpost to this empire. Looking at the architectural similarities is interesting. . . . . #kilmartincastle #kilmartinglen #kilchurncastle #Scotland #visitscotland #travelscotland #travelgram #scotlandisnow #instascotland #historicalscotland #castlesofscotland #wandering #experience #experiencescotland #argyll #wildaboutargyll #lovesscotland #traveltheworld #bucketlisttravel #familytime #travelinspo #traveltips #destination #hiddenscotland

I’m incredibly curious to explore a few shores exotic…

We’d love to finally go back to Italy…

I’m very, very excited to get a hug or two…

…and perhaps throw a wager or two down.

Both in the UK…

…and further afield!

Who knows where I’ll end up this year. I can’t wait to find out! Which places are featuring on your travel wishlists for 2020?
