Épernay, the self-proclaimed capitale du Champagne was pretty magical. No, scratch that, really rather magical. We visited as Epernay, Champagne as guests of the Agence Regionale du Tourisme Grand Est but all enjoyment was very much our own.
A good friend of ours had visited Èpernay on a ladies weekend, and had told us of the beautiful champagne houses, the rolling countryside laden with grapevines and the blush stone Avenue de Champagne, which only served to fuel our excitement.
It’s fair to say that 90% of my waking thoughts centre around travel in some form and I knew from the moment I heard about the Searcys Art Of Travel afternoon tea in St Pancras Station, that I wanted to pop in and try this iteration of themed afternoon teas in London. The only problem was that I was too busy travelling to book it in for an age…London
Luckily, one of my favourite partners-in-mischief rolled into London fresh from New York, which gave us the perfect excuse to daydream alongside the Eurostar trains rolling themselves to Paris, Brussels & The Netherlands.
First and foremost my blog is a journal. An online journal that has become a treasure box of memories, tips that I hope will be helpful and my online baby which has given me the impetus to learn a plethora of new skills. In that spirit, Goodbye 2019, Hello 2020! This little blog post is a throwback to the year that was.
2019 has been quite the year work-wise; I’m so thankful to have a collection of fascinating clients, I’ve worked with some really interesting projects and with a national charity who have some incredible stories and work with star-studded collaborators. There have definitely been highs and low lows to the year that I celebrated my second freelance anniversary – and I’m the stronger for it. I’ve also experienced just how wonderful my community are. I get asked a lot if I’m glad that I launched my little business, and I can whole-heartedly say yes.
The last two months have been busy, crazy, frenetic and thrilling, so I suspect if we were having coffee it’d be a flat white in my hot little hand.
I’ve been working my little freelance tailbone off, booking 2020 adventures, going on 2019 adventures, dreaming about the future, making goals, then summarily ignoring those goals… I’ve spent a lot of time on my laptop and thinking about social media srategy.
