A Long Weekend in Budapest (v.2.0)

A couple of years ago our long weekend in Budapest was such a delight that my friend and I decided unanimously for a return visit.

The Best Places Long Weekend in Budapest Adventures of a London Kiwi

We met over a sunny weekday lunch to find a date, book the flights and decide where we were staying for the 5 days – the details simply fell into place with the tip-tip-tap of a few laptop keys.

TRAVEL WISHLISTS AND 2019 PLANS – JANUARY #TRAVELLINKUP

2018 has been full of travel, adventures, bad hairstyles in photos and explorations.

Travel wishlist 2019 Adventures of a London Kiwi

My first couple of months were concentrated on building my business and scooting around London (fitting in a few bits of London sightseeing and restaurant visits) before we flew to Romania for a week to explore the Transylvanian castles and political history of Bucharest. I fitted in a cheeky solo beach break in Bournemouth in the middle of a busy project, I explored Basel in Switzerland solo (where in one day I managed 3 meals in 3 countries) and went on a group trip to Cologne, Germany

How to book cheap flights (so you can spend your money on holiday champagne at sunset instead)

Over the years I’ve bagged a fair few bargain flights; £20pp return to Italy, £33pp return to Valencia, a cracking package deal including a flights & 5-star hotel in Vienna for almost the same cost as just flights. I also realised that I’ve never written a post on just how to book cheap flights, even with the trips I’ve done over the years and tips that I’ve picked up.

How to book cheap flights tips and tricks Adventures of a London Kiwi

Flying business or first class is lovely, don’t get me wrong. Top tips for chasing the Northern Lights – Tromso, Norway

A few years ago for my birthday, Mr Kiwi and I boarded a plane up into the Arctic Circle. Thanks to the joys of social media and bloggers, we had been tipped off that one of the best places in the world to see the Northern Lights was Tromso in Northern Norway.

How to find the Northern Lights in Tromso Norway Adventures of a London Kiwi

We were lucky enough to not only see their elusive shimmers but also spend time under a sky where we could just about touch the milky way it was so clear. Unfortunately, I don’t have photos – I didn’t have a good enough camera then and we were far too caught in the moment – but it’s a memory that will live on regardless.

The Ultimate New Zealand Roadtrip: The North Island Edition

Aoteoroa, Land of the Long White Cloud, God’s Own. New Zealand is known by many names, including ‘home’ for me. At least once in your life, you must do a North Island road trip. With gorgeous waterfalls, geothermic oddities, amazing beaches, snoozing volcanoes – the North Island is gorgeous, but it often plays second fiddle to the glory of the South Island.

Cathedral Cove Ultimate New Zealand Roadtrip Adventures of a London Kiwi

What qualifies me as an insider? I’m a born and bred North Island lass of New Zealand. I’ve lived in gorgeous cities from Auckland all the way down to Wellington, and beautiful places in between like the Art Deco capital of the world Napier and spent a lot of time the beautiful shores of Tauranga.
